D Diamond Holdings Inc Wages War on Windows Live Hot Mail

Well, not really, boycott maybe. If you have had experiences with Live Mail from Microsoft like I have, perhaps you would feel the same way. Recently my brother sent me a SAD story about a brother and sister that were affected by a tragic fire in a Wal-Mart store. The little eight year old girl had been badly burnt and Yahoo said they would donate $2.00 for each time the story was forwarded to help the family with their hospital bills for the care of this little girl.
Now I have to admit, I rarely forward these types of things to a list of people but I felt so moved that I emailed almost everyone on my contact list including business associates, friends and family. I use Gmail because I like the fact I have a copy of all emails in case my computer goes down online and never had a problem of my recipients getting their mail promptly.
Everyone on my list got the email except one lonely Hotmail account of which I go a very unfriendly notification from MSN Live Hotmail. The notification stated that because I had complaints against my account they put a block against my IP address and suggested I join their Junk E-Mail Reporting Program (JMRP) a free program intended to help senders remove unwanted recipients from their e-mail list: http://postmaster.live.com.
To say I was speechless is an understatement. I am not and never have been a Spammer. I hate anyone that does that and I contacted that person directly to see if they put in a complaint which they said they did not make a complaint. To have a block against my IP account is just the last straw for Microsoft.
I like many other people have remained loyal to Microsoft since I started using a computer some years ago, but after the last couple of years I am beginning to wonder why.
I kept Windows XP Pro and decided to keep my current computer (Dell Inspiron 8600) and just upgrade memory and hard drive refusing to endure the continuous headaches from Windows Vista my friends have had with the new operating system from Microsoft. Although I have Windows Office Programs installed I can live without them. Open Office. Org has a wonderful suite of programs and with a little practice and a few add-ons one can be just as productive. I would hate to give up my Outlook Express, but even that was revamped by Microsoft and if you like using stationary and adding pictures in the body like I do Live Mail is no improvement.
I may close my Live Mail account, remove MSN Messenger from my computer and email all my contacts that I will not be sending mail to their Hotmail accounts removing them from my contacts list and in general boycott Live Mail. I certainly have had those thoughts. Maybe if enough people begin look to other companies and computing options they’ll get the hint and hear the frustration being voiced against them.
A good alternative is iJango. iJango will offer all registered users a free email address. Their fully customizable homepage is free to use and free to register and will go live tomorrow.
